Clitoria. One year of ife collective

We sip on volatile essences in constant movement. Our liquid and chlorophyllic tentacles escape taxonomy, forming symbiotic loves with the multiplicity of creatures and materials.

ife collective celebrates its first year of activities, projects, and wonderful meetings with a fluid evening, specially created for the occasion.

Clitoria is the name of the cocktail created by Elena Benetti for the first anniversary of ife collective. A drink that reflects our hybrid and mutable nature, a blend of bodies and colors. The infusion of the butterfly pea flower (Clitoria ternatea) has very important properties: it is, in fact, an anti-stress, antidepressant, calming, and sedative plant. Its flower is known for its unusual color and the ways it can be used to prepare blue or purple dishes.

In Cuban medicine, it is used to stimulate menstruation, while in Asia and India, it is used to increase libido and fertility: the name Clitoria ternatea comes from the word "clitoris" because the flower resembles it in appearance. This perennial plant is native to tropical Asian regions but can also be easily cultivated in Italy. The dried flowers are used to make the infusion.
