Dove si cammina
Photography exhibition by Ubif, curated by ife collective, on the occasion of Piccolo Festival della comunicazione sociale curated by è social - social communication agency
18-29.09.2024
Spazio è social, Vicenza
The places are phenomena of relationships, differentiating themselves from the mere definition of spaces as they continuously reshape themselves through the activation of situated connections, not only between people, but also between all subjectivities, materials, and elements belonging to that ecology in its continuous becoming. Thus, places are subjects in themselves, made of souls, bodies, practices, images that change and create changes, situations in which everyone is agitated and is an agent. If we view urban contexts from this perspective, then it becomes possible to grasp the value of our being in the world based on an approach whose cornerstone is reciprocity. How can we activate new, inclusive, horizontal geographies?
Destinations, to visit and photograph, are points that, by capturing our attention, downplay the value of the passage. Dove si cammina *Where we walk* inserts here, inviting the never-ending exploration of the geographies of the Ferrovieri district in Vicenza, based on the photographic investigation by Ubif. The images on tracing paper are available to be taken and carried, becoming a device to activate engagement with territories, critical research tools to imagine new contexts based on placing bodies as subjects of responsibility and reciprocity at the center. Places, in this sense, are layered and participatory systems.
Dove si cammina is a body of images created and lived with a consciousness nurtured by the desire to actively engage in the complexity of the infinite relationships that exist between everything.
